2013 Nissan Altima Teased Yet Again, Debuts Next Week

2013-Nissan-Altima-teaser If you’ve been paying attention, you will by now undoubtedly know that Nissan will introduce the 2013 Altima at next week’s New York auto show. Nissan already has released four teaser clips of the Altima, and today shared a fifth preview of the new sedan.

The latest clip gives us a 360-degree view of the new 2013 Altima before zooming out, revealing it’s actually the so-called Advanced Drive Assist Display located within the instrument cluster. Not only does this screen display trip, temperature, and navigation information, it also appears to confirm the 2013 Altima will be available with both lane departure warning and blind spot detection systems.

So far, Nissan has shown off almost every angle of the new Altima. We’ve seen the new nose with its redesigned grille, the boomerang-style taillights, an aerial view, and a view of the new Altima in profile. The new midsize sedan appears to have considerably more curves and design flair than the current model, although its overall shape seems to diverge very little from the 2012 Altima.

We still don’t know much else about the car. It’s expected to use an inline-four engine with a continuously variable transmission, possibly supplemented with an optional V-6 option. It’s unknown whether there will be another hybrid version of the Altima.

As the second best-selling car in the country, the Altima is a very important car for Nissan. We’ll find out just what changes the automaker has it store for its midsize contender when the car is revealed next week in New York.
